Relationship i girl i like?

i really like a girl but she has a boyfriend and i wnat to ask her out. would it be a good idea to ask her now or when she dumps him giving me a better chance of getting her. im am totally sure she likes me but i dont think she would dump him. and what should i do to get more attention from her to be more freinds to each other before i ask her out.
