What would happen if texting was stopped world-wide for 24 hours?

Just curious. It would probably mean complete pandemonium. It seems like so many people are addicted to texting now days, that they can't even put the phone down for even a second, even when driving. Pardon me if I sound like I'm just ranting, but a relative (a child) was killed in a texting-related accident. Because of that, I hate texting. I really wish the laws were stricter on it, since DWI (driving while intexticated) is often much more dangerous then driving DUI. Maybe then people could actually go on and live their lives. What do you think? Are you addicted, or have you ever texted while driving?
