The 2nd longest walk by Native American was held this year on the 30th Anniversary of the original longest walk. It was successfully represented by more than 100 tribes. The purpose was to bring home to lawmakers the fact that ping laws that affected Native Americans negatively, by taking away their governing rights, violating sacred places and damaging the environment was a major concern. These concerns were presented to US Representative John Conyers on the steps of the Capital.
